Suturing, Gluing & Wound Care

Aims: To gain understanding of the management of acute and chronic wounds in a clinical environment (hospital, care home, first contact centre).

Duration: 1 day course (7 hours incl. breaks)

Ratio: 1 instructor to 8 candidates

Learning outcomes:

  • Awareness of the wound healing process and influential factors
  • Management of acute wounds
  • Role of sutures in wound closure
  • Practise of closure methods (sutures, glue, staples, steristrips)
  • Chronic wound management
