Health and Safety Executive - First Aid at work

People at work can suffer injury or sudden illness. It is important that employers have made arrangements to ensure their employees and customers receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

The Health and Safety Executive is responsible for the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations Act 1981 and a+a training is HSE-approved for both the 2-day re-qualification course and the 4-day first aid at work course. And, as with all a+a courses, they can be tailored specifically to meet the clients' needs.

First Aiders in the workplace need to be confident in their skills and for this reason a+a ensure that all students practise first aid techniques until they are fully familiar with them.

The instructor to student ratio for a+a HSE training is 1:8, which excels normal practice. In addition to this all instructors are practising nurses and doctors who respond to cardiac arrests on a day-to-day basis. The First Aid courses are available at any time of day, from Monday right through to Sunday, and cover all mandatory training requirements.
